SERVICING YOUR GENERATOR
FOAM AIR FILTER CLEANING
A dirty foam air filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor, reducing
engine performance. If you operate the generatorin very dusty areas,
clean the foam air filter more frequently than specified in the
Maintenance Schedule.
Clean the foam air filter in warm soapy water, rinse, and allow to dry
thoroughly, or clean in non-flammables olventand allow to dry.
Dip the foam air filter in clean engine oil, and then squeezeout all
excess oil. The engine will smoke when started if too much oil is left
in the filter.
Wipe dirt from the aircleaner housing and cover using a moist rag.
Be careful to prevent dirt from entering the airduct that leads to the
carburetor.
