OPERATION (continued)

OPERATING THE ROTARY BROOM

1 . Read the operator's manual carefully. Be thoroughly familiar w i t h the controls and proper u s e of the equipment.

2.Do not allow anyone other than the operator on the tractor. Do not allow any rider on the attachment.

3.If t r a c t o r is not equipped w i t h optional cab, operator must wear eye protection (face shield etc.) during operation.

4.B e sure bystanders are completely clear of tractor, broom and broom discharge area before operating the broom. Contact w i t h tractor, broom or debris discharged by broom can cause serious i njury .

B:Remove any accumulation of snow, ice, d i r t or m u d from broom hood and from i n between b r i s t l e s regularly; excess weight w i l l unbalance broom causing .premature wear of bristles

IMPORTANT: For e f f i c i e n t o p e r a t i o n , sweep w i t h the t i p s of the b r i s t l e s l i k e a broom; n o t w i t h t h e sides of the bristles l i k e a mop.

APPLICATIONS:

0SNOW REMOVAL

may be thrown farther than the snow. Use slowest brush speed that w i l l perform the job. Stay aware of broom discharge direction.

1 . T h i s broom works best on snow d e p t h of 6" o r less, l a r g e amount of snow c a n b e moved i f ground speed is reduced.

2.To avoid snow being blown back on the t r a c t o r and/or o p e r a t o r , sweep w i t h t h e wind blowing i n the d i r e c t i o n of broom d i s c h a r g e .

3 . T h e u s e of HONDA a p p r o v e d r e a r counterweight is recommended.

0LAWN THATCHING AND LEAF RAKING

: Optional caster must be installed to perform these types of operation i n order to avoid excessive ground contact.

1 . Set caster wheels a t 1 'I t o 1 1/4" below b r u s h t i p s f o r leaf r a k i n g and t h a t c h i n g o p e r a t i o n .

2. Slower brush speed and ground speed are more adequate f o r lawn thatching . T h i s w i l l a v o i d b o u n c i n g w h i c h could damage the lawn due t o excessive ground c o n t a c t .

3 . Minimize dust by sweeping when moisture is h i g h ( n o t wet) whenever p o s s i b l e .

0GENERAL SWEEPING (parking l o t etc.)

1. Minimize d u s t by reducing brush speed and by sweeping on days w i t h h i g h moisture .

2.For l i g h t material, a n g l e broom 12.5O r i g h t o r l e f t rather than f u l l y angled

t o o b t a i n a wider sweeping path .

3 . Prevent damage t o broom by removing l a r g e f o r e i g n o b j e c t s .
