Storing Food.

STORING FRESH FOOD:

Proper use of the appliance, adequately packed food, correct temperature and taking into account hygienic precautions will substantially influence the quality of the food stored.

Foods to be stored in the refrigerator should be properly packed, to prevent drying out and odour transference. Plastic bags, containers with lids, foil and plastic stretch wrap are ideal.

Wrap cheese firstly in greaseproof paper and then in a polythene bag, excluding as much air as possible. For best results take out of the fridge an hour before eating.

Before storing food in the refrigerator, remove the excess packaging.

Allow adequate air circulation around packages, make sure that foodstuffs do not touch each other (various odours may mix).

Never store poisonous or dangerous substances. Your appliance has been designed for the storage of edible food stuffs only.

Beverages with high alcohol percentage shall be stored in tightly sealed bottles in a vertical position.

Position food to allow air to circulate freely, ensuring nothing comes into contact with the cooling plate at the rear of the refrigerator.

Foods should be cooled down before storing.

Quickly perishable foods should be stored at the back ie. the coldest part of the refrigerator.

Try not to open the door too often.

Wrap raw or defrosting meat and poultry in polythene or foil and store below cooked foods and dairy products.

Clean out salad bins regularly and check that nothing has dripped into them.

Keep food for as short a time as possible and adhere to ‘sell by’ dates.

Store fruit and vegetables in the salad bins under the glass shelf as it provides a better humidity level for these items.

Take off any unusable leaves on vegetables and wipe off any soil.

Leave lettuce, cabbage, parsley and cauliflower on the stem.

If you are going away, ensure that perishable foods are removed from the refrigerator before you leave.

BM10, BM21 specifications

Hotpoint has established a reputation for delivering reliable and innovative home appliances, and their BM10 and BM21 models of built-in microwaves further solidify this commitment. These two appliances bring modern design features and advanced technology to kitchens, ensuring cooking convenience and versatility.

The Hotpoint BM10 microwave offers a capacity of 17 liters, making it ideal for smaller kitchens or for individuals who value efficiency and space. With a sleek and contemporary design, the BM10 seamlessly integrates into any cabinetry, enhancing the overall aesthetic of your kitchen. Its user-friendly interface features intuitive controls, making it accessible for all users, regardless of cooking skill.

One standout feature of the BM10 is its combination cooking technology, which allows users to utilize both microwave and grill functions simultaneously. This results in evenly cooked meals that boast a delightful crispy texture on the outside, paired with tender juiciness on the inside. The microwave also comes equipped with an automatic cook function, which takes the guesswork out of meal preparation by selecting the optimal cooking times and power levels for various dishes.

On the other hand, the Hotpoint BM21 model offers a larger capacity of 25 liters, catering to families or those who often entertain guests. Like the BM10, the BM21 features a stylish built-in design and is equipped with modern touch controls for ease of use. This microwave also includes a grill function for those who enjoy perfectly browned dishes without the need for a conventional oven.

One exceptional technology featured in both models is the ‘Jet Defrost’ function. This innovation allows for rapid defrosting of frozen food items, ensuring that meal preparation is quick and efficient. Both the BM10 and BM21 also include a range of power levels, giving users precise control over cooking, reheating, and defrosting tasks.

Energy efficiency is another critical consideration in the design of both models. Hotpoint has ensured that these microwaves not only deliver high performance but also contribute to lower energy consumption, ultimately benefiting both users and the environment.

In summary, the Hotpoint BM10 and BM21 microwaves combine modern design with practical functionality. Their features, such as combination cooking technology, flexible power levels, and innovative defrosting capabilities, make them great additions to any kitchen. Whether you’re looking for a compact option or a larger capacity model, Hotpoint provides quality solutions tailored to varied cooking needs.
