Whatyou can ~ leaveon dishes. Andwhatyou shouIdn9t.

If this is your first dishwasher,or if you’rereplacinga much older model, you may wonder how much pre-preparation your dishes need. Actuallyvery little. Pre- rinsingof normal food soilsis not necessary. With common senseand

what foods to remove. Here are someguidelines:

1.Scrapeoff bones, seeds, skins, toothpicksand other hard solids. It is also best to removehard shelledvegetables, meat trim- mings, leafyvegetablesand crusts. Removeexcessivequantitiesof oil or grease.

2.Removelarge quantitiesof any food. Yourdishwasherhas a built- in soft food disposerthat pulver- izessoft food bits and flushesthem away.It can handle smallamounts of soft foods, but largeamounts of food as soft as mashed potatoes or applesaucewillbe difficultto handle.

3.Try to removefood scrapsand placedishesin dishwasherbefore soilhas a chanceto dry and becomehard. Disheswith dried-on soil are more difficultto wash and may not come cleanin the

small “holding” loads.

Note: The foods mentionedabove are for examplesonly. Other foods not mentionedmay also need to be removed from your dishes. You may also want to considerremov- ing foods such as mustard, mayon- naise, vineg~r,lemonjuice and other foods that can causedis- coloration of stainlesssteelif allowedto remain on dishesfor a long period of time.

Whenusingthe POWERSCRUB cyclelesspreparation is required before loading. The POWER SCRUBcyclecan wash heavily- soileddishesand removedried-on and baked-on soilsfrom pots, pans and casseroles.Items with burned-on soilswillnot come clean. And the dishwashercannot removeburn marks or restore fading caused by overheating during cooking.
