Water may ~~otbe reaching the detergent cups. Move dishes that may be blocking detergent cup.

The dispensercover may not be opening or may be blocked by improperly loaded items. Open the cup and remove any caked-on detergent. If the cup still doesn’t open automatically,call for service.

Detergentmay be old. If it’s hard or caked in the box, throw it away. The detergentmay not be workingwell. Try another brand.

Spottingcan be causedby all these things: @Extremelyhard water (Seepage 6).

@Low water temperature (To test, see page 6). ~ Overloadingthe dishwasher.

$ Improper loading(Seepages8-9). ~ Old or damp detergent.

Q Phosphate levelin detergenttoo low (Seepage 6). @Rinseagent dispenserempty (Seepage 6).

@Too little detergent(Seepage 7).

Due to varyinglocal water conditionsand personalpreferences,try several brands of detergentsto find one that givesthe best results for you.

To remove spots and film from glassware:

1.Removeall metal utensilsfrom the dishwasher.

2.Do not add detergent.

3.SelectPower Scrub cycle.

4.Start the dishwasherand allow to run for 15to 20 minutes. The dishwasherwillnow be in the main wash.

5.Then open the door and pour 2 cups (500ml)of white vinegarinto the bottom of the dishwasher.

6.Closethe door and allow to completethe cycle.

If vinegar rinse doesn’t work: Repeat as above, exceptuse % cup (60 ml) of citricacid crystalsinstead of vinegar.(Most drug stores carry citric acid crystals. If yours doesn’t, call Hotpoint Factory Service.)

Using a vinegaror citric acid crystalrinse more than twice a month? Considera home water-softener.

If vinegaror citric’acid crystalrinse doesn’t work, the cloudinessis “etchingt’The film cannot be removed.

It can be prevented: Use lessdetergel~tif you have soft water. Wash glasswarein the shortest cyclethat willget them clean.
