if additional option –forceis given. Backup media in backup media pool should be formatted, but not initialized.

–F ,–force

Set forced mode for FSE medium remove, format, initialize, mark unreli- able, mark unusable or mark good operation. There are three kinds of usage of this option in combination with other options. This option will:

if –formatoption is given, allow formatting of non– empty FSE me- dia if it is not referenced by FSC;

if –initoption is given as the first option after the command name, allow initialization of non–empty FSE medium volumes if it is not referenced by FSC;;

if –remove ,–mark–unreliable ,–mark– unusable or –mark– good option is given, skip FSE administrator’s confirmation of FSE medium removal, marking the medium unreliable, marking it unus- able or marking it good; treat it as if FSE administrator would have answered the confirmation question with "Yes".

–i ,–init

Initialize the specified or all FSE medium volumes on the FSE medium with barcode Barcode. Initializing an FSE medium volume means (over– )writing its volume header, thus preparing this volume for usage in the FSE system.

Note:

FSE medium volume must be associated (via its FSE medium and FSE media pool) to an FSE partition before it can be initialized. If the medium volume is not empty, its initialization is allowed only if addi- tional option –forceis given. Backup media should not be initialized, but formatted only.

–no–monitor

Disable monitoring of the formatting, initialization, maintenance, or reor- ganization job which is to be performed on the FSE medium. Monitoring is enabled by default. See JOB PROGRESS MONITORING for details on monitoring.
