5.If it is necessary to replace the optical drive bracket, position the optical drive with the rear panel toward you.

6.Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screws (1) that secure the optical drive bracket to the optical drive.

7.Remove the optical drive bracket (2).

Reverse this procedure to reassemble and install the optical drive.

Before removing the solid-state drive, follow these steps:

1.Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.

3.Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

4.Remove the battery (see Battery on page 29).

5.Remove the service cover (see Service cover on page 30).

Remove the hard drive:

1.Loosen the three captive Phillips screws (1) that secure the solid-state drive to the computer.

2.Use the tab (2) to slide the solid-state drive to the right to disconnect it from the system board.
