SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2 The log is supported at one end. There is a high risk that it will split.

AStart by cutting from below (about 1/3 of the way through).

BFinish by cutting from above so that the two cuts meet.

3 Tree felling technique

It takes a lot of experience to fell a tree. Inexperienced users of chain saws should not fell trees. NEVER ATTEMPT A TASK YOU ARE UNSURE OF.

A Safe distance

The safe distance between a tree that is to be felled and anyone else working nearby is at least 21/2 tree lengths. Make sure that no-one else is in this "risk zone" before or during felling.

3 The log is supported at both ends. There is a high risk that the chain will jam.

AStart by cutting from above (about 1/3 of the way through).

BFinish by cutting from below so that the two cuts meet.

Limbing

When limbing thick branches you should use the same approach as for cutting.

Cut difficult branches piece by piece.

B Felling direction

The aim is to fell the tree in the best possible position for subsequent limbing and cross-cutting. You want it to fall on ground where you can move about safely.

The main point to avoid is letting the tree fall onto another tree. It can be both difficult and dangerous to remove a tree in such a position (see point 4 in this section).

Once you have decided which way you want the tree to fall you must judge which way the tree would fall naturally.

Several factors affect this:

Lean of the tree

Bend

Wind direction

Arrangement of branches

Weight of snow

You may find you are forced to let the tree fall in its natural direction because it is impossible or dangerous to try to make it fall in the direction you first intended.

Another very important factor, which does not affect the felling direction but does affect your safety, is to make sure the tree has no damaged or dead branches that might break off and hit you during felling.

During critical felling operations, hearing protectors should be lifted immediately when sawing is completed so that sounds and warning signals can be heard.

51 specifications

The Husqvarna 51 is a well-regarded chainsaw that has made its mark in the world of outdoor power equipment. Renowned for its balance of performance and usability, the Husqvarna 51 is often favored by both amateur woodcutters and professionals alike. This versatile chainsaw is designed for a range of tasks, from light-duty pruning to more demanding woodcutting jobs.

One of the standout features of the Husqvarna 51 is its powerful 2.3 horsepower engine. This robust engine allows the saw to tackle larger cuts with ease, making it a reliable tool for any woodcutting needs. Coupled with a lightweight design, the chainsaw ensures reduced fatigue during prolonged use, enhancing user comfort and efficiency.

The Husqvarna 51 utilizes a simple yet effective starting system known as the Smart Start technology. This feature minimizes resistance in the starter cord, allowing for easier and quicker engine starts. Consequently, even less experienced users can confidently get the saw up and running without unnecessary frustration.

Another important characteristic of this model is its air injection system. This technology works by using centrifugal force to remove larger debris from the air filter before it reaches the engine. As a result, the filter stays cleaner for longer, reducing the frequency of maintenance and ensuring optimal engine performance. This system significantly prolongs the life of the chainsaw while maintaining high power levels.

The Husqvarna 51 also features an adjustable oil pump that allows operators to control oil flow as needed. This ensures proper lubrication of the chain and bar, which is critical for maintaining performance and extending the lifespan of the cutting components. The saw’s chrome-plated cylinder further contributes to durability by providing an added layer of resistance against wear and tear.

Safety is a priority with the Husqvarna 51, which comes equipped with an inertia-activated chain brake. This feature automatically stops the chain in the event of kickback, providing additional peace of mind to the user. The front hand guard and ergonomic handle design also enhance user control, contributing to a safer and more comfortable cutting experience.

Overall, the Husqvarna 51 stands out as a reliable, sturdy, and user-friendly chainsaw. Its blend of power, technology, and safety features makes it an ideal choice for a variety of cutting tasks, making it popular among both casual users and seasoned professionals. Whether you are trimming branches or cutting firewood, this chainsaw offers the performance you need for effective woodcutting.
