It is recommended that a shock absorbing material should extend a minimum of 6 feet in all directions from the perimeter of stationary equipment such as climbers and slides. However, because children may deliberately jump from a moving swing, the shock absorbing material should extend in the front and rear of a swing a minimum distance of 2 times the height of the pivot point measured from a point directly beneath the pivot on the supporting structure.

Please note there are 4 holes on the feet of the main frame. The purpose of these holes is to anchor the unit to the ground in the commercial or park environment. It is not necessary to anchor the unit to the ground if you are only using the unit for your home or backyard. When anchoring the unit, follow the instructions above to install the shock absorbing material around the unit to prevent injury. This selling unit does not come with the parts for anchoring.
