The FM Stereo indicator LED lights when you tune to an FM stereo station, if the BAND selector is set to FM ST.

5Adjust the sound level with the VOLUME control.

6Press the DBBS button to boost the bass (if desired).

7For private listening, plug your stereo headphones into the stereo headphone jack on top of the player. The speakers mute automatically.

Warning

To avoid damaging your hearing, set the volume to a low level before putting on the headphones, then adjust the volume up to a comfortable level.

8To turn the radio off, press the POWER button.

Using the CD player

The CD player can play audio discs, including CD-R and CD-RW discs. The CD player is not compatible with CD-ROM, CDI, VCD, DVD, or computer CDs.

Note

CD-R and CD-RW discs must be finalized to play in this CD player.

To use the CD player:

1Press the POWER button to turn the shelf system on.

2Slide the function selector to CD.

3Open the CD tray by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE button.

4Insert as many as 3 discs with the printed side up, then press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray.

5Press the DISC1, DISC2, or DISC3 button to select the disc you want to play.

6Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback.

•To pause playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button.

•To resume playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button again.

7Adjust the sound level with the VOLUME control.

8Press the DBBS button to boost the bass during playback (if desired).
