Computer systems that have an unshielded cable attached to a USB port might not meet FCC Class B requirements, even if no device or a low-speed USB device is attached to the cable. Use a shielded cable that meets the requirements for a full-speed USB device.

Consumer IR (CIR) Receiver Header

The Desktop Board has a CIR receiver header (Figure 16, E). This header consists of a filtered translated infrared input compliant with Microsoft CIR specifications and a “learning” infrared input. The learning input is a high-pass input which the computer can use to “learn” to speak the infrared communication language of user remotes.

Consumer IR (CIR) Receiver Header NOTE

The Consumer IR option must be enabled in the system BIOS before it can function. Press the F2 key at boot to enter the system BIOS, and go to Advanced > Peripheral Configuration > Enhanced Consumer IR, and set this option to Enabled.

Table 8 shows the pin assignments and signal names for the front panel CIR receiver (input) header.
