BASIC OPERATIONS

Turn headset on/off – Press the multi-function button Manual background for 3 to 5 seconds until you see a burst of flashes on the blue indicator light, then release. The indicator lights on the headset and multi-adapter will flash every 3 seconds while the power is on and in “Standby” mode.

If you are already wearing the headset, you’ll hear a quick series of FOUR tones when turning the headset on or off. When turning on, their pitch will be low to high, and when turning off, their pitch will be high to low.

Manual background Important: Do not hold the Manual background button down too long (more than 3 to 5 seconds) when turning on headset or else the headset may go into pairing mode, and the blue indicator light

will turn solid. If that happens, the section below titled “If you press and release Manual background and the headset stays in Standby mode” may be applicable to you.

Turning multi-adapter on/off - The multi-adapter turns on auto- matically when you undock the headset, and it turns off when you dock the headset. To turn it off without docking, you can insert the stylus into the stylus switch then press and release the switch. Repeating this will turn it on.

Choose wearing preference – FreeSpeak is ready to wear on

the right ear. If you prefer the left, gently rotate the MiniGel 180°.

1.To make or answer calls, press and release Manual background ONCE to move the headset from “Standby” to “Active” mode, turning on the audio link between the headset and the multi-adapter. (It may take a few seconds for the audio link to start, so don’t

press the Manual background again.) In Active mode, the indicator lights flash every second.

2.You will then need to dial or answer the call using the phone’s keypad.

3.When you’re done with the call, use the phone’s keypad to end the call.

4.Then press and release Manual background again to return to Standby, turning off the audio link.

Calls can be made by using voice-activated dialing (available in certain Nextel phone models).

Manual background Important: Do not hold the Manual background button down too long when switching modes; this should only be a quick tap.
