Proper adjustment of these controls is critical!

Infrasonic filter:

For virtually all aftermarket head units,

set “Input Voltage” to “Low”.

Switch “Off” for Sealed Enclosure.

See “Input Sensitivity Setting Guide”

Switch to “30Hz” for Ported Enclosure

on pg. 14 for precise setting instructions.

Dual Mono Speaker Output connections: Connect wire directly to “+” and “–”“Subwoofer Output” connections and to the W7.

Remote Bass Port:

Permits connection of an optional remote bass boost controller (RBC-1), giving you control over the EQ boost from the front of the vehicle. The RBC-1 controller is sold separately.

Lf Boost:

Generally not necessary in W7 applications (we recommend defeating it by turning the dial to “0”).

Amp Low-Pass filter:

Set “Mode/Slope” switch to “24dB”. Set “Filter Freq. (Hz)” knob to “85”. Lower settings are likely to result in a poor transition between the upper response of the W7 and the lower response of the mid-bass speakers.

Amplifier Input:

Connect RCA-type cables from the head unit (or processor) to these two jacks. Use both jacks (with a Y-adapter if necessary).

W7, 13W7D15 specifications

The JL Audio 13W7D15 is a high-performance subwoofer that exemplifies the brand's commitment to providing exceptional audio quality and innovation in the realm of car audio systems. Engineered for drivers who demand deep, powerful bass and unmatched clarity, the 13W7D15 embodies the latest technologies and meticulous craftsmanship that JL Audio is renowned for.

One of the standout features of the 13W7D15 is its massive 13.5-inch diameter cone, constructed from a proprietary blend of materials. This cone delivers both rigidity and lightweight qualities, allowing for fast response times while producing lower frequencies. The distinctive design of the cone is complemented by the patented W-Cone technology, which enhances the overall surface area without increasing the size of the enclosure. This innovative approach maximizes the output of the subwoofer while ensuring optimal sound quality.

The 13W7D15 incorporates a high-temperature voice coil, designed to withstand extreme heat generated during high-performance audio playback. This feature not only enhances reliability but also contributes to the overall efficiency of the subwoofer, ensuring that it can handle substantial power without distortion. Additionally, the subwoofer utilizes a dual 3-ohm voice coil configuration, providing flexibility in wiring options and enabling users to customize their sound system according to their preferences.

Advanced cooling technology is another significant aspect of the 13W7D15 design. The subwoofer is equipped with a unique cooling system that includes an intelligently designed vent that directs air through the voice coil, effectively dissipating heat. This feature not only extends the longevity of the subwoofer but also maintains consistent performance even during prolonged periods of heavy use.

In terms of power handling, the 13W7D15 impressively manages up to 1000 watts of RMS power with a peak power handling capacity that goes even higher. This robust power handling ensures that the subwoofer can reproduce the most demanding bass tracks with authority, bringing an immersive auditory experience to the listener.

Constructed with attention to detail, the subwoofer features an advanced mounting system, including a durable rubber surround, ensuring that it can handle the vibrations without compromising sound integrity. The robust cast aluminum frame enhances durability while providing a stable foundation for the driver.

In summary, the JL Audio 13W7D15 is a testament to engineering excellence and high-fidelity sound reproduction. With its cutting-edge technologies, impressive power handling, and meticulous design, it stands out as a top choice for audiophiles who seek to elevate their sound experience in both car audio systems and home theater environments.
