Operating Instructions continued
Stand the iron on its heel and turn the
Temperature Control to MIN.
Plug the power cord into a 230V or 240V
power outlet and switch on. The Power
Indicator light will illuminate while the iron
is plugged into an outlet and switched on.
NOTE: for KI480 only, the Power

if Auto Off has been acti vated.
Select the temperature setting required
by rotating the Temperature Control dial
so that the desired setting is aligned with
the Temperature Indicator.
Your Kambrook iron is now ready for use.
CAuTION: The iron
incorporates a thermal
safety fuse to protec t the
iron from over-heati ng.
However the iron should
not be left unatten ded
while it is connecte d to
the power outlet. Spec ial
care should always be
taken when there are
children in the home/
vicinity of the iron .

Steam Ironing

When filling the iron wi th water, ensure
that the iron is unplu gged. Set the
Steam Control to the MIN po sition and
holding the iron at an a ngle, use the
water cup supplied to fil l the water tank.
Never exceed the maximum w ater level
as indicated (MAX) o n the side of the
water tank.
Tap water can be used in your
Kambrook SpeedStea m Iron unless
it is particularl y hard, in which c ase
it is recommended tha t distilled o r
demineralised water be used.

To Operate the Steam Control

As per the indications on the
Temperature Control and in Table A (see
section ‘Setting the Temperature’) steam
ironing is only possible at higher ironing
temperatures, indicated with Cotton/
Linen on the Temperature Control.
Plug the power into a 230V or 240V
power outlet and switch the power on.
The Power Indicator light will illuminate
while the iron is plugged into an outlet
and switched on.
NOTE: for KI480 only, the Power
Indicator light will remain on even
if Auto Off has been acti vated.
Set the Temperature Control to the
required position within the steam range.
Set the Steam Control (on top of the
handle) to the required setting.
Your Kambrook iron is now ready for use.
IMpORTANT: If the iron is
set to a low temperature
on the Temperature
Control (i.e. syntheti c
or silk) and also on any
of the steam control
settings, there m ay
be leakage from the
soleplate. This is d ue to
the iron temperature not
being high enough to
vaporise the water and
create steam.
Therefore, ensure tha t
the steam control is
always set to correspon d
with the setting on t he
temperature control as
seen in Table A
(see section ‘Setting
the Temperature’).
