SAFETY BOIL DRY PROTECTION

The Hot Cup is fitted with a safety device, which protects against overheating should the appliance be operated with insufficient water. If this occurs the Hot Cup will stop heating and the illuminated light on the power on/off switch will go out. Switch off at the power outlet and allow the kettle to cool before refilling. Remove the Hot Cup from the power base and add cold water. Return the Hot Cup to the power base. The safety device will then automatically reset.

important: if your hot cup will not be used for an extended period (e.g. if you are on holiday), we recommend that you first empty it. Follow the emptying your rapid boil on page 5 before using the hot cup again, carry out several boil cycles discarding the water each time. this should prevent any bad smell or taste from water that may have resided in the unit over the extended period of non use.

NOTE: Never operate the Hot Cup dry - too little water will result in the Hot Cup switching “OFF”. Do not overfill the Hot Cup - filling above the maximum mark on the water window may result in water splashing from the kettle.

NOTE: The Hot Cup must only be used with the power base supplied.

NOTE: Do not remove the Hot Cup from the power base during operation. Ensure the Hot Cup has switched to ‘OFF’ position after the water flow has ceased before removing the vessel/cup.

Caution: This appliance is designed for the boiling of drinking quality water only, never use it to heat or boil any other liquids or foodstuffs. The lid should always be firmly in place and locked closed before use.
