The Stitch and Its Uses

This stitch can be used for sewing a seam with an overcast finish.

The seam is formed and finished in

one operation.

It can be used when

you are making swimwear, ski pants

and other garments that require stretch.

Stitch so the needle pierces the fabric just short of the outside edge

Or, place your fabric to allow a 5/8"

seam, then trim seam allowance after.

Raw or worn edges of older garments can be overcast to prevent further raveling.

NOTE:

Use a

needle,

prevents
