3-6 Operation restriction according to the disc or player status

Operations of some DVDs and VCDs are restricted by the intention of the software producers. Operations may also be restricted due to the status of the player.

3-9 Playing discs by changing them

As this player plays discs in accordance with the intentions of software producers, some functions may not work as intended by the user. Be sure to read the manual provided with the disc to be played. When an inhibition icon is displayed on the connected TV screen during operation, it indicates that the player is in the operation restricted status.

÷With certain DVD and VCD discs, a menu is displayed in the beginning.

÷The DISC knob in the player is invalid when the disc door is closed in the all random and program modes.

÷When the sequential play mode of the player is set to "Sequential On", the DVD VIDEO is not played

back.

3-7 Playing discs

Press the 3 button in stop mode to start playback.

÷When you are operating the remote, press the 3 or ENTER button.

÷The TV screen shows "Play" and the 3 indicator in the display lights up.

÷The type of the disc being played is shown on the

display.£

÷Certain CD-R and CD-RW discs may not be playable on this player.

÷The CD indicator lights when a CD-DA disc is loaded.

÷When a disc containing MP3 files is played, the “MP3” indicator lights.

3-8 PLUS1 to PLUS3 slots

Unlike the discs in other 400 slots, the discs in these slots can be played back by simply pressing the button, without the need of setting or selecting the disc number. Another feature of these slots is that they have wider areas around the grooves to facilitate insertion and ejection of discs.

Three PLUS slots, 1 to 3, are provided.

Operation procedure

1.Press thebutton button of one of the PLUS1 to PLUS3 slots.

2.The PLUS slot selected in step 1 moves to the center of the disc door, then the disc door opens.

3. Insert a disc.

4.Press the button button to start playing the disc.

÷When if you are operating the remote, press the PLUS 1 to PLUS 3 button.

÷With the PLUS1 to PLUS3 slots, special playback such as program playback and random playback is not available.

3-10 Playing from the selected disc

Operation procedure

1.Press the DISC SEL. button on the remote to select a disc.

2.Compose the disc number to be played using the 0 to 9, +10 and +100 buttons.

No 253 ........... +100 x 2, +10 x 5, 3 No 120 ........... +100, +10 x 2, 0

3.Press the 3 button.

÷The DISC SEL. button is invalid in the all random and program play modes.

÷When the sequential play mode of the player is set to "Sequential On", the DVD VIDEO is not played back. In this case, playback starts with track 1 of the selected disc and continues on all other discs in the stocker except for DVD VIDEO discs. ›
