yMica Filled Polypropylene with a Titanium Deposit Coated Cone An Ultra High Performance look that makes the Solo-Baric® L7 truly a statement piece. The cone gives you deeper and stronger bass at higher listening levels with less distortion due to less tendency to flex. Because, when a woofer cone flexes, there is a loss of out- put. This loss of output translates into less bass.

yRe-engineered rear cone brace In order to keep up with the demands on the cone at extreme listening levels, the rear brace has been re-designed and strengthened to reduce the cone flex. The brace works in conjunc- tion with the other components of the cone, to insure that cone flex does not decrease the output of the woofer.

yMassive Surround Radius High SPL=VMAX=Cone area + Xmax + surround radius. What does this mean? According to Dr. Koneairea, the Vmax of the driver takes into account the cone area as well as the Xmax of the driver. To increase the Xmax - the distance the cone can move in one direction - the surround must be large enough to handle the demands. Taking this into consideration, the new Solo-Baric L7 surround has been increased to handle the massive power needed for high SPL.

yOne Piece Front and Rear Gaskets Instead of using the cork gaskets, which can separate, the new L7’s have a one-piece gasket on both the front and rear of the mounting flange. It is more durable and ergonomically pleas- ing to the eye. The previous cork gaskets could tear off if you were transplanting the speaker into another box, or they could stay adhered to the old box causing you to order another gasket. These problems are eliminated with the new rubber gaskets. They not only look better, but also function better by eliminating the chance for air leaks.(provided the box is built correctly!) We still recommend if you are carpeting the box, to cut away any carpet that is under the woofer mounting flange to insure a tight seal.

ySSD (Spun Spoke Design) The basket not only looks impressive, but it is extremely functional. This cast alu- minum basket provides a solid foundation for the motor assembly insuring that all the parts work together in har- mony and prevent shifting or misalignment. Without a solid foundation, the speaker’s various parts could shift under extreme excursion causing premature failure and add unwanted noise to the music. If misaligned, the voice coilcould rub the inner wall of the motor structure and thus exposing the bare windings, which would cause speak- er failure. The same thing happens if the coil former rubs the pole-piece. The damaged former exposes the wind- ings causing speaker failure. When other speakers are pushed to their limits they tend to make noises that add col- oration to the music. When you’’re LIVIN’LOUD you only want to hear the music the artist intended you to hear, not a bunch of unwanted ringing.

yPerimeter Venting Without the perimeter venting along the side of the speaker, hot air would be trapped in with the voice coil. This will cause the structure to heat up quicker and cause power compression, which results in decreased output, as well as shorter speaker life. Perimeter venting causes a vortex cooling effect around the coil which exchanges the hot air around the voice coil for cooler air outside the speaker. It also releases pressure from under the spider to allow the speaker to work in a more linear fashion. All of this translates into cooler operating temperatures which will allow the speaker to sound and perform better.

L7 specifications

The Kicker L7 series is renowned in the world of car audio for delivering impressive bass and unmatched performance. Known for its square design, which maximizes cone area, the L7 subwoofers are engineered to push the limits of sound quality and output. One of the standout features of the Kicker L7 is its unique Solo-Kon technology, which incorporates a square cone shape to deliver more surface area than traditional round subwoofers, resulting in deeper bass and higher sound pressure levels.

These subwoofers are crafted from high-quality materials, ensuring durability and consistent performance. The injection-molded cone is lightweight yet incredibly strong, paired with strong reinforced ribs that help to support the cone during high excursions. This combination minimizes distortion and provides a clear, powerful bass experience. The subwoofers also come equipped with a strong motor structure, which ensures precise control over the cone movement even at high volumes.

In terms of power handling, the Kicker L7 subwoofers excel with their ability to handle significant wattage. They often feature dual voice coils, providing flexibility in wiring configurations, and making it easier to achieve the desired impedance for optimal performance in any system. This ability to handle high power input translates into an impressive output level, making the L7 a favorite choice among serious audio enthusiasts.

The Kicker L7 subwoofers also integrate advanced cooling technologies, such as a vented pole piece and perimeter venting, which help dissipate heat during prolonged use. This ensures reliability and longevity, reducing the risk of thermal failure – a common issue with many high-performance audio components.

Additionally, the Kicker L7 subwoofers are designed for customizable installation, allowing car audio enthusiasts to build their systems according to specific needs. With a variety of sizes available, including 12-inch and 15-inch models, users can easily find the perfect fit for their vehicle and audio system.

Overall, the Kicker L7 series stands out for its innovative design, superior construction, and penchant for delivering powerful, deep bass that bass enthusiasts crave, making it a cornerstone in the realm of car audio. Whether you are looking to enhance your daily drive or bolster your sound system for competitive use, the Kicker L7 delivers uncompromising quality and performance.
