Troubleshooting
In Review mode, a
blue or black
screen is displayed
instead of a
picture.
■Transfer the p icture t o the co mputer ( page 13), then format t he card in
the camera (page20).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and videos,
including protected files.
Shutter button
does not work.
■Turn on the camera (page2).
■Transfer pictures to the computer (page13), delete pictures from the
camera (page11), switch image storage locations (page23 ), or insert
a card with available memory (page3).
Slide show does
not run on external
video device.
■See the external device’s user’s guide.
Picture is too light. ■Move so there is at least 24 in. (61 cm) between camera and subject.
■Decrease Exposure Compensation (page20).
Picture is not cle ar. ■Clean the lens (page50).
■Move so there is at least 24 in. (61 cm) bet ween the camera and the
subject.
■Place the camera on a flat, steady surface or use a tripod.
Picture is too dark. ■Turn on the flash (page 7).
■Move so there is n o more than 7.9 ft (2.4 m) bet ween the camera and
the subject.
■Use Fill flash (page7) or change your pos ition so light is not behind
the subject.
■Increase Exposure Compensation (page20).
Camera does not
recognize
SD/MMC card.
■Purchase a certified SD/MMC card.
■Reformat the card (page20).
