j Raise up the impact protection flap 11.
j Remove the grass box 10.

c Danger!
J Switch the appliance off! Wait until the curved
blade bar 21 comes to a complete stop!
j The appliance permits 6 adjustments of
cutting height, from 20 to 70 mm (see Fig. D).
Tip!
j For the first cut of the season, when the stems
have grown to at least 5 to 6 cm, set a high
cutting height. Subsequently, always mow with
the same cutting height adjustment, if possible.
Repeat this procedure weekly if possible, for as
long as the grass continues to grow - i.e. into
the autumn. Immediately before the winter peri-
od mow the grass for the last time down at the
usual cutting height.
j Release the switch lever for cutting height
ad-justment 12 to the outside.
j Lift or lower the lawn mower to the desired
cutting height, up or down.
j Re-engage the switch lever for cutting height
adjustment 12 .

c Danger!
J Connect the plug coupling of the extension
cable with the power socket 4.
J Secure the extension cable by hanging it in the
power cable strain relief fitting 7.
QOperation
QSwitching the appliance on / off
j Switch the appliance on only when the curved
blade bar o and the motor have come to a
complete stop!
j Under no circumstances should you switch the
appliance on and off in quick successions!
Switching on
j Press and hold the safety button 3.
j Then pull the handle switch 5 towards the
steering shaft handle 1.
j Hold the handle switch 5 firmly and release
the safety button 3.
Switching off
j Release the handle switch 5.
The curved blade bar 21 continues to ro-
ta-te after switching off! Avoid all physi-
cal contact with the sharp and fast-rotat-
ing curved blade bar 21 !
QOperating the mower
j Mow only with forward movements and with a
steady and even walking tempo.
j Start close to the wall power socket, at the
edge of the grassed area.
j Mow from there with bordering cutting paths
and in alternating directions.
c Overload protect ion
The overload protection prevents damage to the
appliance. It switches the motor off as soon as a
blockage is apparent or an overload threatens.
j
If the overload protection activates itself, allow the
appliance to remain switched off for ca. 5 minutes.
j Remove the possible cause (e.g. long grass
straws or foreign bodies).
j Increase the cutting height by about 2 cm
should the overload have been caused by long
grass straws.
