Setting Up
This.sectio n.describes. preparation. and. basic.proce dure.
for.using.the.MMA130.
Turn on the power
1.. Set. the. MA STER. VOLUME. knob. on. th e. MMA130.to.
minimum.
2.. Connect. the. in cluded. power. cable. to. th e. AC.p ower.
connector,.and.then.connect.the.cab le.to.an.AC.outlet.
For.bat tery. operation,. ple ase. refer. to. the. “Installing.
batteries”.section. for.information. on.how.to.inser t.bat-
teries.
3.. Connect.one.side. of.a.cable.to.the. output.jack.of.your.
electronic. musical. instr ument. and. connect. th e. other.
side.to.the.INPUT.jack.
Refer.to.the.“Co nnecting.other.e quipment”.section. for.
information.on.how.to.connec t.your.equipment.
4.. Turn.on.the.power.to.the.connected.devic e(s).
Note:.T he. device. being. supplied. with. power. from. the.
MMA130’s.DC9V.jack.must.be.powered- on.after.step.5.
5.. Turn.on.the.STANDBY.switch.
If.you.want.to. use.batterie s,.set.the. STANDBY.switch.
to.the.BATTERY.position;.the.MM A130.will.run.on.bat-
tery.power.. If.you. want.to.u se.AC.powe r,.turn.on. the.
rear.panel.POWER.switch,.and.then.set.the.STANDBY.
switch.to.the.AC.position.to.turn.on.th e.power.
6.. Use.the. channel.1– 4.VOLUME. knobs.and. the.MAS-
TER.VOLUME.knob.to.adjust.the.volume.
To turn off the power
To.turn.off.the. power,.first.min imize.the.MMA130’s.MA S-
TER.VOLUME.knob,.then.set.the.STANDBY.switc h.to.the.
STANDBY.position,.and.finally.turn.off.the.POWER.switch.
Connecting other equipment
Here’s.how.to. connect.your. equipment.to. the.input.jac ks.
and.adjust.the.volume.
1.. Connec t. the. cables. comi ng. from. the. output. ja cks. of.
your.electronic.musical.instruments.or.other.equipment.
to.the.channel.1–4.input.jac ks.
Use.the. c hannels. that. provide. the. a ppropriate. input.
level.for.your.device.
Connect.mic-level. devices.to.channe ls.1.or.2,.and. set.
their.LINE/MIC.selec t.switch.to.MIC.
Connect.line-level.devic es.to.channels.1–4.
If.you.connect.a.line-level.devi ce.to.channel.1.or.2,.set.
its.LINE/MIC.select.sw itch.to.LINE.
If.you’re. using.a. CD.or. MP3.player,. connect. it.to. the.
AUX.IN.jacks.
2.. Use.the.channel.1–4.VOLUME.knobs.to.adjust.the.vol-
ume.balance.of.each.device.
Adjust.each.VOLUME. knob.so.that.the. corresponding.
peak.indicator.d oes.not.light. up.even.when.pea ks.oc-
cur.on.the.device.connected.to.e ach.channel.
To.adjust.the.input.level.of.the.device.connected.to.t he.
AUX.IN.jacks,.use.the.volume.control.of.the.connec ted.
device.to.adjust.its.output.
3.. Slowly.raise.the.MASTER.VOLUME.kn ob.to.adjust.the.
overall.volume.
Installing batteries
Remove.the.battery.cover.from.th e.cabinet.

Install.six. or.t welve.alkaline. C.bat teries,.mak ing.sure. to.
observe.the.correct.po larity.shown.in.the.illustra tion.
Note:.M ake.sure. that.eac h.batter y.is. oriented.i n.the. correct.
polarity.
Tip:.If. yo u’re. using. twelve. bat teries,. inst all. six. more. in. the.
same.way.
Choose.the.num ber.of.batter ies.according. to.the.opera t-
ing.time.that.you.require.

Replacing the batteries
Replace.the.batterie s.when.the.power.indi cator.becomes.
dim.
Note:.A s.the.batter ies.run.low,.you. might.hear.no ise.or.inter-
ruptions.in.the.sound.
Note:.R emove.batteries.immedi ately.when.they.are.no.longer.
usable..Leaving. depleted. batteries.ins talled.may. cause.mal-
functions. (such. as. batter y. electroly te. leakage).. You. should.
also.remove. the.batteries. if.you. won’t.be.us ing.the.M MA130.
for.an.extended.period.of.t ime.
Note:.You.must.repla ce.the.batteries.in.sets.of.six..Do.not.mix.
fresh.and.used.batterie s.in.the.same.set.
