DVD DVD Standard DVD Player
Great home theater starts with a great source component. And in a marketplace inundated by unremarkable DVD players, the Krell DVD Standard has emerged as an industry reference—a true high-end home theater source component.
An advanced transport ensures compatibility with a wide range of media, including single- and dual- layer DVD, video CD, and audio CD/CD-R.
24-bit/192kHz ultra-high-resolution digital-to-ana- log converters (DACs) assure superb audio perfor- mance. The converters feature a differential cur- rent output configuration to provide an ideal interface with the renowned Krell Current Mode,™ discrete Class A, direct-coupled, fully complemen- tary analog output circuitry.
The DVD Standard is the world’s first standalone DVD player to incorporate Faroudja Laboratories’ newest high-perfor- mance digital video chipset. Faroudja’s patented digital signal processing technol- ogy delivers unprecedented image detail and sharpness. The DVD Standard also implements Faroudja’s award-winning de- interlacing and line-doubling algorithms to provide the highest-quality progressive- scan video output.
Video output is optimized for the latest solid- state video display technologies, including plasma, LCD, DLP, and DILA. The progres- sive-scan output employs triple 10-bit DACs and provides both RGB and component interfaces.
Both Toslink and coaxial digital audio outputs are provided. A component output, featuring 2X oversampling and a 10-bit DAC, is provid- ed for interlaced-scan video output, as are standard composite and S-video outputs.
The Krell DVD Standard is uncompromisingly engineered to deliver the highest-quality video and audio source signal possible… for today’s high-end home theater systems and those of the future. The play- er’s firmware can be simply upgraded via the disc drive, making the DVD Standard immune to obsolescence.
The crucial final stage that delivers the video signal to the display device comprises professional-grade circuit- ry. It is classic Krell output stage technology applied to the video domain—robust, uncompromised circuitry delivering the most vivid and detailed picture available from the DVD platform.
