The analog circuitry—the most critical stage in a surround preamp/processor—features the advanced signal path developed for Krell’s flagship stereo preamplifier, the Krell Current Tunnel. All eight channels employ fully bal- anced Krell Current Mode™ topology in a zero-feedback configuration, delivering a staggering 1MHz bandwidth. This circuitry assures the most transparent reproduction of
today’s most demanding movie soundtracks and high-resolution audio
formats. In Preamp mode, the HTS 7.1 operates as a pure analog preamplifier, bypassing all digital ciruitry to ensure the cleanest, most direct signal path.

Krell’s unique software-based seven-channel digital room equalizer maximizes system performance in any room. For each of four memory settings, the user can program filter type (high-pass, low-pass, notch, peaking, and high/low shelf), frequency,s shape, and level for all seven channels. This makes it possible to program, for example, independent settings for stereo music, multi- channel music, movie surround, or even video game software. Krell’s digital room equalizer can transform your family entertainment room into a breathtaking home theater...without hiring an architect.
Controls include bidirectional RS-232 communications, 12V triggers, and direct RC-5 input. The HTS 7.1 is also Crestron I2P certified for use with touchpanel-based sys- tems. The operating system resides in FLASH memory, enabling software upgrades via the RS-232 port.
