Object of the Game

Correctly identify different parts of speech in order to collect word cards and be the first player to make a correct, complete sentence.

*Note: No punctuation cards are included in gameplay.

Set-up

1.Turn all of the parts-of-speech cards color side up.

2.Sort the cards by color into eight separate piles along the sides of the board.

3.Turn the cards color side down. The cards should be scattered around the board in small piles so you can see the words.

4.Place the tarjetas locas (wild cards) on the labeled spot on the game board.

5.Choose a game pawn and place it on comienzo (start).

6.Roll the die. The player who rolls the highest number goes first. Play continues to the left.

How to Play the Game

1.On your turn, roll the die and move that number of spaces on the game board in a clockwise direction.

2.If you land on one of the four parts of speech (sustantivo, verbo, pronombre, adjetivo), look at the card piles and choose a card that has a word that is the part of speech that you landed on.

3.Always check the back of any card you take to see if you correctly identified the word’s part of speech.

If you are correct: Keep the card and start making a sentence. Your turn is over. It is now the next player’s turn.

If you are not correct: Put the card back where you got it. Stay on the space until you find a correct card on your next turn. Your turn is over. It is now the next player’s turn.
