Suggested Activities:

Picture/Syllable Match

Place blend letter cards in the clear display pockets located on the top of the chart. Place one or more corresponding picture cards in an extra storage pocket located at the bottom of the chart. Challenge students to draw picture cards out of the extra storage pocket, say their name, and match each picture to the blend letter cards that is in its name. Place the card in the clear display pocket next to the blend letter card. Students should use the words on the back of the picture cards to self-check.

ABC Order

Place several picture cards in a clear display pocket in scrambled order. Challenge students to order the pictures alphabetically by their name.

What Am I?

Place all the picture cards in the chart pockets corresponding to the blend they have in their name. Choose a picture card and describe the object to students. For example, if you want the students to find the fresa (strawberry) picture card, say, “You can eat it. It is red. It tastes sweet.”
