Two–Stage Operation

The G27M is a two-stage gas-fired furnace, which can be controlled by either a two-stage or single-stage room thermostat.

The two-stage thermostat monitors the room temperature and sends a signal to the G27M furnace when the temper& ature falls below the desired setpoint. The furnace is then turned on at low fire (first stage). If the room temperatures continues to fall, the thermostat sends a signal to turn on the unit at high fire (second stage).

When a single-stage thermostat is being used to control the operation of the G27M furnace, the unit can either op& erate on high fire (second stage) at all times or the unit can be made to start on low fire (first stage) and automatically switch to high fire (second stage) after a time delay, if the demand is not satisfied on low fire (first stage).

NOTE – For more details on available options and for unit

adjustment, contact the Lennox Technical Support De-

partment.

Filters

G27M series units are equipped with external filters which should be inspected monthly and replaced when necessary to assure proper furnace operation. See table 1 for filter sizes. Replacement filters used with G27M-60/75 units must have a minimum velocity rat& ing of 400 FPM. Replacement filters used with G27M-100/120 units require a minimum velocity rating of 625 FPM. Figures 3, 4, and 5 show possible filter locations.

Lennox International Inc. is a renowned name in the HVAC industry, known for its innovative heating and cooling solutions. One of its significant offerings is the G27M, a high-performance gas furnace designed for residential applications. The G27M boasts an array of outstanding features that prioritize energy efficiency, comfort, and durability.

At the core of the G27M is its state-of-the-art heat exchanger, which maximizes heat transfer and enhances overall performance. The furnace operates at an impressive Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating of up to 92%, making it an environmentally friendly choice that can significantly reduce energy bills. This efficiency is further augmented by the inclusion of a multi-speed blower motor, which allows the system to adjust airflow according to the heating demand, ensuring consistent comfort across the home.

The G27M is also equipped with advanced technology that simplifies operation and enhances user control. Smart thermostat compatibility allows homeowners to manage their heating preferences remotely, optimizing energy usage and scheduling comfort according to their lifestyle. Additionally, the integrated electronic ignition system eliminates the need for a standing pilot light, increasing efficiency and reliability while reducing gas consumption.

Durability is another hallmark of the G27M, with its robust construction designed to withstand the rigors of operation. The furnace features a heavy-gauge steel cabinet that not only provides insulation but also minimizes noise levels during operation, ensuring a quieter home environment. Its powder-coated finish protects against rust and corrosion, extending the unit's lifespan.

Maintenance is made simple with the G27M, as its design allows for easy access to critical components. This facilitates routine servicing and ensures optimal performance over time. Furthermore, Lennox includes a limited warranty that underscores their confidence in the product’s reliability and performance.
