TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE

Symptoms

Tracks do not change or set does not play normally.

CD Player will not turn on.

Disc will not play.

No sound from headphones.

SymptomsCausesSolutions ” appears in the display instead of the total track number in STOP mode.

VOLUME control has less function.

Sound is skipping or sound stops.

Sound is distorted.

Buttons do not work.

Car Cassette Adaptor ejects from Car Cas- sette player.

Cigarette Lighter Adap- tor has no power or Cigarette Lighter Indi- cator does not light up.

Causes

Batteries are weak (they may test OK on tester but they are weak for CD operation).

Dead or weak batteries.

The optional AC adaptor is not connected properly.

Disc is inserted incorrectly.

Defective or improper disc.

Disc is scratched or dirty.

CD DOOR is not closed.

Moisture has formed inside the CD deck.

Headphones plug is not inserted properly.

Remote control’s plug is not fully inserted.

VOLUME control is set to minimum.

Weak batteries.

Defective or improper disc.

Improper disc.

Headphones plugged into LINE OUT jack.

The compact disc or lens is dirty or CD is scratched.

Strong vibrations.

Music is too loud.

BASS BOOST is ON.

Weak batteries.

Electronic or static error caused circuitry to lock.

Remote control’s plug is not fully inserted.

Your car may have special cassette player.

Poor contact.

Fuse is blown.

Solutions

Replace both batteries with fresh alkaline batteries. Battery life with fresh batteries is about 10 hours for continuous CD play (rechargeable batteries have 1/2 of that life).

Replace both batteries with fresh ones.

Check AC adaptor connection at AC outlet and the set.

Re-insert disc with label side facing up.

Try another compact disc. This set will not play MP3 or WMA discs or scratched discs.

Replace disc (this set will not play damaged or scratched CDs), or buy a disc repair pol- isher to repair the scratched discs yourself.

Close the door securely.

Take out the CD and leave the CD door open for about 20 minutes to dry the moisture condensation.

Re-insert headphones plug into PHONES jack (not LINE OUT) on the set or on the top of the REMOTE CONTROL.

Push the remote control’s plug and make sure the plug is fully inserted into PHONES jack.

Increase the volume.

Replace with fresh batteries or use an optional AC adaptor.

Try another compact disc. This set will not play MP3 or WMA discs or scratched discs.

Plug headphones into PHONES jack.

(NOT THE LINE OUT JACK)

Clean or replace the compact disc or clean the lens.

Place the player on a stable level. Lower the VOLUME.

Press the BBS button to turn off the bass.

Replace both batteries or use an optional AC adaptor.

Remove batteries and AC adaptor. Wait 15 seconds and reinsert. Make sure batteries are fresh or the optional AC adaptor has power.

Push the remote control’s plug and make sure the plug is fully inserted into PHONES jack.

Press the REVERSE button on your cas- sette player or reverse the adaptor.

Insert Adaptor firmly and fully (make sure socket is clean).

Unscrew Adaptor tip and replace fuse inside the Adaptor. Also check the Car’s fuse.
