SECTION 1 INTRODUCTION

1.0SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The Liebert Load Bus Sync™ (LBS) option keeps the output of two independent Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPSs) in sync, even when the two UPSs are operating from two different power sources. Any UPS will typically sync to its own bypass source. As long as both UPSs are tied to the same input and bypass sources, they will automatically stay in sync. However, if the UPSs are operating on batteries, or different backup generators, or asynchronous bypass sources, their outputs will tend to drift out of sync.

Maintaining sync is critically important for installations with dual power distribution systems. These sites typically feature Liebert Precision Power Centers (PPC) with Liebert Static Bus Transfer Switches. Each PPC has dual inputs: it can receive power from either UPS, and switch seamlessly between the two as long as the UPS outputs are held in close synchronization. This provides redundancy down to the PPC level. It also permits one entire half of the distribution system (upstream of the PPC) to be taken offline for maintenance or repairs.

The Load Bus Sync option consists of an LBS interface in each UPS module plus one LBS controller enclosure installed between the UPSs.

Liebert 300 manual Introduction, System Description

300 specifications

The Liebert 300 is a high-performance precision cooling unit designed specifically for critical environments such as data centers, telecommunications facilities, and server rooms. This system ensures optimal temperature and humidity control, which are crucial for maximizing the performance and longevity of sensitive electronic equipment.

One of the main features of the Liebert 300 is its advanced cooling technology. It employs a direct expansion (DX) cooling system, which provides efficient cooling without the need for extensive ductwork. This design allows for easy installation and retrofitting in existing facilities. In addition, the unit is equipped with variable-speed compressor technology, enabling it to adjust cooling output based on real-time demands. This capability dramatically increases energy efficiency while maintaining the ideal operating conditions for critical equipment.

The Liebert 300 also incorporates intelligent controls and monitoring systems. With embedded microprocessor controls, users can manage and customize settings via a user-friendly display interface. Real-time monitoring of temperature, humidity, and airflow ensures that any fluctuations are promptly addressed. This system is also compatible with building management systems (BMS) to provide comprehensive oversight of all environmental conditions.

In terms of energy efficiency, the Liebert 300 meets or exceeds the latest industry standards, such as ASHRAE and ISO. Its eco-friendly refrigerants help reduce environmental impact, aligning with sustainability goals. Additionally, it features advanced heat recovery options, allowing for the reuse of thermal energy for heating processes or hot water generation.

The design of the Liebert 300 emphasizes not only performance but also reliability. Built with durable materials and robust construction, this unit is engineered to operate continuously under demanding conditions. Regular maintenance is simplified through its modular structure, allowing for easy access to components that may require servicing or replacement.

Overall, the Liebert 300 represents a comprehensive solution for precision cooling needs, integrating cutting-edge technology with user-focused design and energy-saving features. Its capability to adapt to changing environments and workloads makes it an essential component in maintaining the integrity and performance of critical infrastructure in today's technology-driven world. Whether for new installations or upgrades, the Liebert 300 stands out as a premier choice for ensuring optimal climate control in mission-critical applications.
