Features

1. Illumination: Illumination is accomplished with either AllnGaP(Red) or

InGaN(Green) high output Light Emitting Diodes. LEDs and supporting elec-

tronics have an expected life of 25 years. Proprietary injection/compression

molded acrylic lens provides higher light output and even illumination.

2. Housing: The EX Series is available in both recessed and surface mounted

versions.The recessed mounted sign utilizes a 20 gauge galvanized steel

backbox and brushed aluminum (standard) faceplate. Faceplates can also be

specified in either a white or black. The surface mounted version contains

the electronics in a low profile brushed aluminum housing. White and black

housings are optional.

3. Mounting: For all surface mounted applications a canopy, which utilizes a

quick connect locking system for secure installations, is provided.

4. Standard Self-Testing/Self-Diagnostics: Unit runs an internal test every

five seconds for secondary voltage, charge current, battery voltage, and LED

illumination. Performs automatic 1 minute discharge test every 30 days and

30 minute discharge test every 180 days meeting and exceeding UL 924 and

6) Inrared Remote Sensor (I) option must be ordered with unit to be compatible with IRemote.

	NFPA 101 requirements. The Infrared Option allows a remote control to initi-
	ate a 5 second and 30 minute self-test in addition to the standard 1 minute
	and 90 minute manual test capability.
5. Electronics: 120/277 VAC dual voltage input. Microprocessor controlled
	charge, transfer and monitoring system. Charging system is complete with
	low voltage disconnect, AC lockout, and brownout protection. Self powered
	units include an AC indicator/systems status lamp and manual test switch.
6.	Battery: Maintenance free, sealed nickel metal hydride battery with 10 year
	life and an operating temperature between 14°F (-10°C) and 113°F (45°C).
	NiMH battery is a non-toxic, environmentally friendly product which is recy-
	clable.
7.	Input Power Requirements: AC Only – Red: 2.28W; Green: 2.40W
	Emergency Operation – Red: 3.51W; Green: 2.58W
