5. Operation

This is the easiest bit. The blue light will flash for a few seconds when power is first applied, then remain dimmed with the Klimax in standby mode. When a signal is detected the light brightens up as the main power supply and amplifier are enabled. If the amplifier needs to protect itself it will shut down entirely for a few seconds and flash the light. There is no half way current limiting; the amplifier can either do what is required of it or it will shut down entirely. The amplifier will revert to standby 10 minutes after the input signal is removed. To operate the Klimax, select a source on your preamp, wait a couple of seconds for the Klimax to power up, then sit back and enjoy it.

We wish you many happy years of listening pleasure.

From the Linn Klimax team.

500 Solo specifications

The Linn 500 Solo is a high-performance loudspeaker that exemplifies the brand's commitment to audio excellence and innovation. Building on the heritage of Linn's acclaimed speaker systems, the 500 Solo was designed to deliver an immersive sound experience for both music enthusiasts and casual listeners alike.

One of the standout features of the Linn 500 Solo is its active design, which utilizes a dedicated amplifier for each driver. This configuration eliminates the need for passive crossovers, allowing for greater precision in sound reproduction. By amplifying the signal directly at the speaker, the 500 Solo can provide a more accurate and dynamic range, showcasing the subtleties of the music without distortion.

The speaker is equipped with advanced driver technology, including a high-performance bass driver and a specially designed tweeter. The bass driver features a large, lightweight cone that delivers deep, controlled low frequencies, while the tweeter is engineered to reproduce high frequencies with clarity and detail. Together, these drivers create a well-balanced sound signature that is suitable for a wide variety of music genres.

To further enhance sound quality, the Linn 500 Solo incorporates cutting-edge digital signal processing (DSP). This technology allows for real-time adjustments to the audio signal, compensating for room acoustics and ensuring that listeners experience the best possible sound profile, regardless of their environment. The integration of DSP also allows for customizable sound settings, enabling users to tailor their audio experience to their preferences.

The build quality of the Linn 500 Solo is another hallmark of its design. Constructed with rigid cabinet materials, the speaker minimizes resonance and vibration, which can negatively impact sound quality. Additionally, its aesthetically pleasing design is available in various finishes, allowing it to blend seamlessly into any home decor.

Connectivity options are also a strong suit of the 500 Solo, featuring built-in streaming capabilities that support a range of digital audio sources. This functionality allows users to connect wirelessly to their music libraries and streaming services, providing convenience and versatility in audio playback.

In conclusion, the Linn 500 Solo is a remarkable loudspeaker that showcases the brand's dedication to sound quality and innovation. With its active speaker design, advanced driver technology, and customizable digital signal processing, the 500 Solo stands out as a premium choice for audio enthusiasts seeking an exceptional listening experience. Whether used in a dedicated home audio setup or as part of a larger music system, the 500 Solo offers unparalleled performance and style.
