If you adjust the volume with either the volume knob or the remote control
while mute is engaged, the preamplifier will adjust its volume from the
muted volume and disengage the mute function. (This to prevent an un-
pleasant surprise when, having increased the volume while muted, some-
one un-mutes the system.)
The fa cto ry defa ult setting of the Mute circuit is -20 dB. (See “Set up and
Installation” for info rmation on changing the f act ory de fault se ttin g.)
10 STANDBY BUTTON
To g gl es t he Nº380 betwee n n ormal oper ati on and standby, w here in t he dis-
play is turned off, the outputs are disconnected, and all controls are inoper-
able. All critical circuitry remains powered-up during standby to ensure im-
med iate, optima l performance when you a re ready to listen to musi c.
The LED above the standby button will blink slowly when the Nº380 is in
standby, indi cat ing that p ow e r is s till being p ro v ided t o the unit . (If t he
Nº380 is Linked to other Mark Levinson components which are also in
standby, th e y w ill b link in u nis o n .)
