Do not install near any he at sources such as radiators , heat
registers, stoves , or other apparatus (inclu ding amplifiers) that
produce heat.
Do not defeat the safet y purpose of the polarized or
grounding-type plu g. A polarized plug has two blad es with one
wider than the other. A groundi ng type plug has two blades
and third grounding prong. The w ide blade or third prong are
provided for your safety. When t he provided plug does not fit
into your outlet, con sult an electrician for rep lacement of the
obsolete outlet .
Protect the power cord from be ing walked on or pinched
particularly at pl ugs, convenience receptac les, and the point
where they exit from the ap paratus.
Only use attachmen ts/accessories spec ified by the
manufacturer.
Use only with a cart , stand, tripod, br acket, or table
specified by the manuf acturer, or sold with the
apparatus. When a c art is used, use caution wh en
moving the cart /apparatus combinatio n to avoid injury from
tip-over.
Unplug this appara tus during lightning stor ms or when unused
for long periods of time .
Refer all servicing to q ualified service person nel. Servicing is
required when the app aratus has been damaged i n any way,
such as power-supply cord or p lug is damaged, liquid has b een
spilled or objects have f allen into apparatus, t he apparatus has
been exposed to rain or m oisture, does not operat e normally,
or has been dropped.
This product may contain l ead and mercury. Disposal of the se
materials may be regul ated due to environmental
considerations. For d isposal or recycling inform ation, please

Damage Requiring Ser vice - The appliance should be
serviced by qualified s ervice personnel when :
A. The power supply cord or t he plug has been damaged ;
B. Objects have falle n, or liquid has been spilled i nto the
appliance;
C. The appliance has b een exposed to rain
D. The appliance does not ap pear to operate normally o r
exhibits a marked cha nge in performance;
E. The appliance has b een dropped, or the enclos ure damaged.
Tilt/Stab ility - All televisio ns must comply with recomme nded
international glo bal safety standards fo r tilt and stability
properties of its c abinet design.
• Do not compromise these de sign standards by applyin g
excessive pull force to the fro nt, or top, of the cabinet w hich
could ultimately over turn the product.
• Also, do not endanger your self, or children, by placing
electronic equipm ent/toys on the top of the c abinet. Such items
could unsuspecting ly fall from the top of the set and c ause
product damage and /or personal injury.
Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The ap pliance should be mounted
to a wall or ceiling only as re commended by the manufac turer.
Power Lines - An outdoor ante nna should be located away
from power lines.
Outdoor Antenna Grou nding - If an outside ante nna is
connected to the recei ver, be sure the antenna system is
grounded so as to provide some pro tection against volta ge
surges and built up stat ic charges.
Section 810 of the National E lectric Code, ANSI /NFPA No.
70-1984, provides informat ion with respect to proper gro unding
of the mast and suppor ting structure, ground ing of the lead-in
wire to an antenna disch arge unit, size of grounding co nnectors,
location of antenna -discharge unit, conn ection to grounding
electrodes, and req uirements for the grounding e lectrode. See
Figure below.
Object and Liquid Ent ry - Care should be taken so tha t
objects do not fall and l iquids are not spilled into the e nclosure
through openings.
Battery Usage CAUT ION - To prevent battery leakage t hat
may result in bodily injur y, property damage, or d amage to the
unit:
• Install all batte ries correctly, with + and - align ed as marked on
the unit.
• Do not mix batteries (o ld and new or carbon and alkaline ,
etc.).
• Remove batteries when t he unit is not used for a long time.
