-Hold the front handle (C/4) with one hand, depressing the front grip safety (C/5).

-Grasp the rear handle (C/6) with the other hand and start the trimmer with the rear grip safety (C/7).

Caution: The trimmer will start immediately!

Note: The hedge trimmer will start only when both grip safeties (C/5 and C/7) are depressed.

To switch off: Release one or both grip safeties. The trimmer will stop immediately.

Do not attempt to cut branches thicker than 16 mm (0.6”) diameter with this trimmer. These should first be cut with shears (fig. D) down to the hedge trimmer level.

Hold the trimmer with both hands and move it in front of your body (see fig. E).

When operating the trimmer, keep extension cord behind trim- mer. Never drape it over hedge being trimmer.

CAUTION:

Be careful not to accidentally contact a metal fence or other hard objects while trimming. The blade will break and may cause serious injury.

Do not attempt to trim too much at a time, or malfunction of the tool may result.

Overreaching with a hedge trimmer, particularly from a ladder, is extremely dangerous. Don’t work from anything wobbly or infirm (see fig. F).
