INTRODUCTION

To get the best out of your new kettle, please read through these instructions carefully before using it for the first time. Pay particular attention to the safety measures. We also recommend that you keep the instructions for future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions of the kettle.

SAFETY MEASURES

Normal use of the kettle

Incorrect use of the kettle may cause personal injury and damage to the kettle.

Use the kettle for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage resulting from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee Terms).

The kettle may only be connected to 230 V, 50 Hz.

The kettle should not be switched on unless there is water in it.

The kettle or cord must not be placed in water or any other liquid.

Never leave the kettle unattended when in use and keep an eye on children.

The water level in the kettle must not exceed the maximum filling level (MAX 1.5L) marked on the water level gauges.

This kettle is not suitable for commercial or outdoor use.

Positioning the kettle

Always place the kettle at the back of a kitchen counter and at a safe distance from flammable objects such as curtains, tablecloths or similar.

Always place the kettle so that the spout is turned away from any other surfaces as the steam from boiling water may damage them.

Do not cover the kettle.

Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of the counter, and keep it away from hot objects and naked flames.

Return the kettle to its base after use.

Cord, plug and mains socket

Check regularly that the cord is not damaged and do not use the kettle if it is, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any other way.

If the kettle, cord or plug is damaged, it must be inspected and, if necessary, repaired by an authorised repair engineer, otherwise there is a risk of electric shock. Never try to

repair the appliance yourself.

Remove the plug from the socket for cleaning.

Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold the plug.

Check that it is not possible to pull or trip over the kettle or any extension cord.

PRIOR TO FIRST USE

7.

Before using the kettle for the first time (or following a long period without use), the kettle should be boiled 3 times.

1.Read the safety instructions through carefully.

2.Ensure that the cord is fully extended.

3.Fill the kettle with water until the water level reaches the maximum filling level of 1.5 litres.

4.Switch on the kettle by 5 the on/off button (5) “I”.

5.Pour out the water once it has boiled.

6.Repeat the process described under points 3-5 three times.

USING THE KETTLE

1.Pour fresh water into the kettle. The kettle must contain at least 0.5 l and no more than 1.5 l.

2.Place the kettle on its base (7), which should be placed on a fixed, flat surface.

3.Switch the kettle on with the on/off button

(5) so that the button is pointing upwards towards the letter "I".

The indicator light (4) will now light up and the water will boil within a few minutes, depending on the amount of water in the kettle. If you want to interrupt the boiling, you can do this at any time by pressing the on/off button (5) "0".

When the water is boiling, the kettle will automatically switch off thanks to the integrated thermostat. The indicator light goes off and the on/off button returns to the original position.
