YOUR COFFEE MAKER

Please study these operating instructions before using the coffee maker. By following them carefully, and by paying special attention to the safety instructions you will ensure that this coffee maker will go on making perfect coffee for years to come.

USING THE MACHINE FOR THE FIR- ST TIME

Before making coffee you should use the coffee maker once with water only (without coffee or filter paper).

First, take the required length of cable from the storage compartment, and clamp in position.

Insert the plug into the socket.

Fill the carafe with cold water, tip up the lid, pour water from the flask into the water tank, tip down the lid in original position.

Place the carafe in original position.

Start the brewing process by pressing the On/Off switch.

TO MAKE COFFEE

Tip up the lid and fill the fresh water container with as much water as cups of coffee are desired.

Ensure the water level must not exceed the max level mark on the water tank.

Close lid of fresh water container.

The water level display indicates the number of cups.

Put paper filter size 1x 4 into the filter cassette and fill with ground coffee.

(Take 6-7 g medium fine ground coffee per cup).

Close the lid.

Ensure that the carafe is placed properly in its position.

Switch on the appliance and the pilot lamp illuminates, to indicate the unit is on.

After the brewing process, turn the coffee maker off and take away the carafe.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Disconnect the appliance.

Never immerse the appliance in water.

Clean the appliance with a damp cloth only.

The carafe can be cleaned with warm water, some washing-up liquid and a soft brush. Do not clean the carafe in a dishwasher.

DESCALING

The lime content of ordinary tap water means limescale may gradually be deposited inside the coffee maker. This limescale may be loosened using acetic acid (NOT ordinary vinegar) or descaler, available in supermarkets etc.

1.Mix 100 ml acetic acid with 300 ml cold water, or follow the instructions on the descaler packaging.

2.Pour the solution into the reservoir and switch on the coffee maker using the on/off button.

3.Allow half of the solution to run through the coffee maker, and then switch it off using the on/off button.

4.Leave it switched off for around 10 minutes, and then switch it on again, and allow the rest of the solution to run right through.

5.To remove the final residues of limescale and acetic acid, pour a potful of cold water into the water reservoir, switch the coffee maker on and allow the water to pass through it.

6.Pass fresh water through the machine 3 times (as described in point 5). The coffee maker is now ready for use again.
