Operation
Switching “On” the UPS
With the UPS plugged in, press and hold the “ON/TEST” button for at least 1 second to switch the UPS on. The UPS will perform a self-test each time it is switched on.
Note: When switched off, and still plugged into utility, the UPS maintains the battery charge and will respond to commands received through the computer interface port.
Switching “Off” the UPS
Press and hold the “OFF” button until the "LINE NORMAL" or "BACK UP" LED turns off. To full turn off UPS also unplug the utility cord from the UPS.
Self-test
The self-test verifies that both the operation of the UPS and the condition of the batteries are normal. Under normal operating power, push and hold the ON/TEST button for more than 1 second and the UPS will perform a self-test function. During the self-test, the UPS will operate in back-up mode.
Note: During the self-test, the UPS briefly operates the load(s) on battery power (the Back-Up LED turns on). If the UPS passes the self-test, it returns to on-line operation the Back-Up LED turns off and the Line Normal LED turns on steady. If the UPS fails the self-test it immediately returns to normal operation and the Replace Battery LED turns on. The loads are unaffected by the self-test. Recharge the battery overnight and perform the self-test again. If the Replace Battery LED is still on, ask our nearest dealer about replacing the batteries.
Silence The Alarm
In "Back-Up" mode, push and hold the “ON/TEST” button for more than 1 second to silence the audible alarm. This function is unavailable under "LOW BATTERY" or "Overload" conditions.
Note: In Back-Up mode, the UPS can be automatically turned off if none of the connected loads are operating.
Load Bar Graph
This 5 LED display shows the power required by the load as a percentage of the UPS's rated capacity. For example: If three LEDs are lit, the load is drawing between 50% and 67% of the total capacity. If the UPS is overloaded, the overload LED lights and an alarm sounds.
