Thesetup program automat icallystarts.
2Onthe Printer InstallationGuide screen,choose
InstallSoftware.
3Followthe instructions on the screen to install the
printerdr ivera nd printer management utilities.
4Registeryour printer inone of the followingways:
•OnthePrinterInstallation Guide screen,choose
Support&Services and then Register (Internet
connectionrequired).
• Gotowww.onlineregister.com/minolta-qms
(Internetconnect ion required).
• Fillout and mail in theregistration c ard that
camewith the printer.
5Onthe Printer InstallationGuide screen,choose
Exitto close the setup program.
6Removethe CD-ROM,and store it in a safe place.

1Insertthe CD-ROM in your Macintosh’s CD-ROM
drive.
2Double-clickthe MINOLTA-QMS icon to start the
installationprogram.
3Double-clickthe Install icon.
4Followthe instructions on the screen to comp lete
theinstallation of t he required files on your
Macintosh.
5Openthe Macintosh HardDiskicononthe
desktop.
6Openthe Apple Extras folder (OS 9)or
Applicationsfolder (OS 9.1orlater).
7Openthe Apple LaserWriter Software folde r
(OS9)or Utilities folder (OS 9.1orlater).
8Double-clickDesktop Printer Utility.
9SelectPrinter (USB)from the Creat e Desktop list,
andthen choose OK.
10 Click[Change] from the PostScriptPrinter descrip-
tion(PPD)file section to select a specific driver.
11 SelectMINOLTA-QMS PagePro 1250E, and then
chooseSelect.
12 Click[Change] from the USB Printer Selection
sectionto select the USB print er.
13 Select PagePro12 50E, and then choose OK.
14 ChooseCreate.
15 Selectthe location and name for your printer,and
thenchoose Save.Thiscompletes the insta llation
ofthe printer driverand the speci fication of the
USBprinter settin gs.
16 Removethe CD-ROM and store it in a sa feplac e.
17 Registeryour printer in one of the followingways:
• Goto www.onlineregister.com/minolta-qms
(Internetco nnection required).
• Fillout and mail in the registrati on card that
camewith the printer.

Thisis a page printer which operates by means of a
laser.There is no possibilityof danger from the lase r,
providedthe printer i so perated accordingto the
instructions in this manual.
Sinceradiation emitted by the laseris completely con-
finedwithin protective housing, the laser beam canno t
escapefrom the machin ed uringanyphase of user
operation.

Thisproduct employs a Class 3b laser diodethat
emitsan invisible laser beam.Thelaser diode and the

Theprint head unit is NOT A FIELDSERVICEABLE
ITEM.Therefore,theprinthead un itsh ould not be
