Bi-amping: a further lift in performance can be achieved through bi-amping. Here two amplifier sections (in its simplest form an integrated model with its matching power amp) are used to supply separate drive units or groups of drive units. One amplifier drives the bass-mid range section, the other the treble. (Fig. 6).

Important: it is vital that the terminal links are removed before connecting the speakers when bi-amping.

Tri-wiring (Gold Reference 60): this option uses one amplifier but requires three runs of cable on each side (left and right channels) to supply bass, mid range and treble units individually and improve sound quality. (Fig. 6a).

Tri-amping (Gold Reference 60): with tri-amping, three amplifier sections are used to supply the individual drive units. This means dedicated amplification for the bass, mid and treble sections and significantly improved performance from the loudspeaker. (Fig. 6a)

Important: it is vital that the terminal links are removed before connecting the speakers when tri-wiring or tri-amping.

The Monitor Audio GR10 is a prominent model within the renowned Gold Reference series, celebrated for its well-balanced sound and exceptional build quality. This compact loudspeaker offers an impressive audio experience, making it a favorite among audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

At the heart of the GR10 is its innovative driver design, featuring a 5.5-inch mid-bass driver equipped with Monitor Audio's signature C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminum/Magnesium) technology. This unique material ensures a lightweight yet rigid construction, allowing for an extended frequency response and minimal distortion. The C-CAM driver excels in delivering clear mids and deep bass, integral to creating a full-bodied sound that is true to the original recording.

The GR10 is complemented by a 1-inch C-CAM gold dome tweeter, a design that has become synonymous with Monitor Audio's commitment to high-quality sound reproduction. The tweeter provides sparkling highs and exceptional detail, ensuring that every note is articulated with precision. Moreover, the speaker employs a sophisticated first-order crossover network that allows for seamless integration between the drivers, resulting in a cohesive listening experience across the audio spectrum.

In terms of aesthetics, the Monitor Audio GR10 boasts a contemporary design that fits well with a variety of interior styles. The cabinet is crafted from a combination of MDF and high-density materials, minimizing resonance and ensuring that the focus remains on the sound rather than the speaker itself. The GR10 is available in a selection of attractive finishes, including real wood veneer options, allowing it to blend effortlessly into any setup.

Connectivity options on the GR10 are user-friendly, with bi-wiring capabilities allowing audiophiles to optimize their sound setup. The rear-ported design enhances low-frequency performance, making it suitable for various room sizes and acoustic conditions.

In summary, the Monitor Audio GR10 stands out as a compact yet powerful loudspeaker that combines advanced driver technologies, superior build quality, and aesthetic appeal. Its expert craftsmanship and attention to detail make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to elevate their audio experience without compromising space or sound quality. Whether for music or home theater setups, the GR10 delivers an authentic sound experience, carving a niche for itself in the competitive world of high-fidelity speakers.
