Introduction
The storage blade is used as the mass storage module in an AdvancedTCA storage
system. The storage blade can be plugged into an AdvancedTCA dual star or dual−dual
star backplane.a
Generally, an AdvancedTCA storage system consists of two major components:
SStorage controller with Fiber Channel Host Bus Adapters (FC HBA).a
SOne or more storage blades
To achieve a fully redundant configuration a second storage controller with two fiber
channel host bus adapters and redundant storage blade can be used.
Storage controller (HBA) and storage blade can be connected via the face plate using
optical or copper SFP transceivers and cables.a
Native fibre channel protocol is used between all building blocks.aaaaaaa
