TRANSMIT
1Turn your radio on.
2Gor Hto select the desired channel.
3Hold the microphone vertically 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5 cm) from your mouth. Press the PTT button to talk.
•The red LED indicator lights steady while the call is being sent.
4Release the PTT button to listen.
REPEATER OR TALKAROUND J
MODE
Talkaround Mode enables you to communicate with another radio when either:
•The repeater is not operating.
–or –
•Your radio is out of the repeater’s range but within communicating distance of another radio.
Note: The Jsymbol appears on the display when Talkaround Mode is selected.
Select either Repeater Mode or Talkaround Mode
Press the preprogrammed Repeater/ Talkaround button (see page 13) to toggle between Repeater Mode and Talkaround Mode.
