text entry

Some screens allow you to use the keypad to enter text, such as when you compose a message.

Multiple text entry modes make it easy for you to enter names, numbers, and messages:

Primary Enter text using a method that you set. Secondary

123Enter numbers only (see page 39).

Symbol Enter symbols only (see page 39).

To assign a Primary or Secondary text entry mode:

1In a text entry screen, press Options.

2Scroll to Input Setup and press s.

3Scroll to Primary or Secondary and press s.

4Scroll to one of the following choices and press

s:

iTAP™	Let the phone predict each word as you
	press keys.
TAP	Enter letters and numbers by pressing
	a key one or more times.

To change the text entry mode:

Press #repeatedly in a text entry screen until the desired mode is displayed.
