Choose the desired Quality of Service (QoS) setting, either based on Type of Service (ToS), Fixed QoS, or QoS Passthrough. If you choose Fixed QoS, use the drop-down menu to select the desired priority setting.

Type Of Service (TOS) bits are a set of three-precedence bit flags in the IP header. When any one of these bit flags is set, routers may handle the datagram differently than those with no TOS bits set. Each of the three precedence bits has a different purpose and only one of the TOS bits may be set at any time, so combinations are not allowed. The bit flags are called Priority bits because they enable the application transmitting the data to tell the network the type of network service it requires.

The network operator can select one of eight levels of QoS for all traffic to and from that modem or can use three ToS bits (three higher order DSCP bits), which are part of the VLAN tag, to determine QoS of individual packets. Select Apply.
