The QuieT6000™ function helps ensure uninterrupted communication between Motorola Talkabout T6000-series radios - it helps to prevent you from hearing transmissions from anything other than these radios. If you and your companions use only the Motorola Talkabout T6000-series radios with QuieT6000 on, you’ll minimize the chance of being interrupted by others (but they can hear you).

To turn the QuieT6000 function on or off, select the SETTINGS mode and the SETQUIET menu. All the radios have to be set to QUIET ON to avoid interruptions.

You need to transmit a call tone before talking, other radios on your channel and code can then receive and transmit until 30 seconds of inactivity occurs which resets the QuieT6000 function. * is displayed in the signal strength area of the two-way mode display to indicate that the QuieT6000 function is on, and it flashes while on a call with another Motorola Talkabout T6000-series radio.
