Clean Your Mr. Coffee Before Using the First lime

Make sure your first cup of coffee is as good as can be by cleaning your Mr. Coffee coffeemaker before you use it the first time. Just follow these simple steps:

1.Wash the decanter, lid and removable filter basket in a mixture of mild detergent and water. Rinse each thoroughly.

2.Replace the filter basket and then follow steps 4 through 6 in the ‘BREWING COFFEE’ section. This will clean the inside of your coffeemaker.

3.When the brew cycle is finished, turn your coffeemaker OFF. Discard the water in the decanter and rinse the decanter end filter basket.

Your coffeemaker is now ready to use.

Brewing Coffee

1.Remove the filter basket. Place one Mr. Coffee 4 cup fitter inside.

2.Add desired amount of coffee according to the coffee measurement chart found below. Shake lightly to level coffee.

3.Be sure the paper filter is properly centered before sliding the filter basket back into position.

4.Fill the decanter with tap water to desired capacity as marked on the side of the decanter. (1 cup equals 5 ounces.) To brew 4 cups of coffee, fill the decanter to the bottom of the silver band.

5.Pour the water into the water reservoir. Place the empty decanter onto the warmer plate.

6.Plug the cord into an electrical outlet and turn the on/off switch to ON. when coffee stops flowing.the brewing cycle is complete.

7.Pull out the filter basket to discard the used grounds. Rinse the filter basket and replace.

Rote: The warmer plate will keep your coffee piping hot until you turn your coffeemaker off.

8.To make another pot of coffee, turn the coffeemaker OFF and repeat steps 1 through 7.

9.Be sure to turn the on/off switch OFF when the decanter is empty and you are no longer using your coffeemaker. Unplug the power cord when not in use.

For the best results, use level tablesooons (tbls.) or level coffee scoops of drip grind recommended for automatic‘c drlp coffeemakers.
