Whencleaning, repairing, or inspecting, make
certainthe auger, impeller and all moving parts
havestopped. Disconnect spark plug wire and keep
awayfrom plug to prevent accidental starting.
Donot run engine indoors, except when starting
engineand transporting snow thrower in or out of
building.Open doors. Exhaust fumes are
dangerous.
Donot clear snow across the face of slopes.
Exerciseextreme caution when changing direction
onslopes. Do not attempt to clear steep slopes.
Neveroperate snow thrower without guards, plates,
orother safety protection devices in place.
Neveroperate snow thrower near glass enclosure,
automobiles,window wells, drop off, etc., without
properadjustments of snow thrower discharge
angle.Keep children and pets away.
Donot overload machine capacity by attemptingto
clearsnow at too fast a rate.
Neveroperate the machine at high transport speeds
onslippery surfaces. Look behind and use care
whenbacking.
Neverdirect discharge at bystanders or allow
anyonein front of unit.
Disengagepower to collector/impeller when
transportingor not in use.
Useonly attachments and accessories approved by
themanufacturer of snow thrower (such as wheel
weights,counter weights, cabs, etc.).
Neveroperate the snow thrower without good
visibilityor light. Always be sure of your footing and
keepa firm hold on the handles. Walk, never run.
Mufflerand engine become hot and can cause a
burn.Do not touch.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

Checkshear bolts, engine mounting bolts, etc., at
frequentintervals for proper tightness to be sure
equipmentis in safe working condition.
Neverstore the machine with fuel in the fuel tank
insidea building where ignition sources are present,
suchas hot water and space heaters, clothes
dryers,and the like. Allow engine to cool before
storingin any enclosure.
Alwaysrefer to operators manual instructions for
importantdetails if snow thrower is to be stored for
anextended period.
Runmachine a few minutes after throwing snow to
preventfreeze up of collector/impeller. Check clutch
controlsperiodically to verify they engage and
disengageproperly and readjust if necessary. Refer
tooperators manual for adjustment instructions.
