Chute Directional Control

Thechute d irectional control is located on left side of
thesnow th rower.
Toch ange the direction in which snow is thrown, turn
chute directional control as follows:
Crank clockwise to discharge to the left.
Crankcounterclockwise to discharge to the right.

Chute Tilt Control

Thedist ance snow is thrown can be adjusted by
adjusting the angle of the chute assembly. Move the
chute tilt control forward to decrease the distance,
towardt he rear to increase.

Fuel Shut-off Valve

Thefue l shut-off valve, located
underf uel tank, controls fuel flow
fromthe tank. Alwa ys make certain
iti sin t he Open (vertical) position
before attempting to start the engine.

Throttle Control

Thethrottle control i slo cated on the engine. It regulates
thespee d of the engine.

Safety Ignition Key

Thesafety ignition key must be fully inserted in the
switch before the unit will start. Remove the ignition key
whensno w thrower is not in use.
IMPORTANT: DoNOT attempt to turn the key.
SECTION 5: OPERATING YOUR SNOW THROWER

Gas And Oil Fill-up

IMPORTANT:Although your snow thrower comes
shipped with oil already in the engine, you MUST check
thee ngine oil level as instructed in the separate engine
manual packed with your unit BEFORE starting the
engine for the first time. Read instructions carefully
Servicethe engine with gasoline an doil as
instructed in the separate engine manual packed with
yoursnow thrower. Read instru ctions carefully.
WARNING: Never fill fuel tank indoors,
with engine running or while engine is
hot.Do not smoke when filling fuel tank.

Electric Starter

WARNING: The electric starter is
equipped with a three-wire power cord
and plug, and is designed to operate on
120 volt AC household current. It must bepr operly
grounded at all times to avoid the possibility of
electric shock which may be injurious to the
operator. Follow all instructions carefully.
Determine that your house wiring is a three-wire
grounded system. Ask a licensed electrician if you
are not certain. If your house wiring system is not a
three-wire grounded system, do not use this
electricstarter under any conditions. If your system
is grounded and a three-hole receptacle is not
available at the point your starter will normally be
used, one should be installed by a licensed
electrician.
When connecting the power cord, always connect cord
tostarteronenginefirst,thenplugtheotherendintoa
three-holegrounded receptacle.
Whendis connecting the power cord, always unplug the
endfro m the three-hole grounded receptacle first.

To Start Engine

IMPORTANT:If unit shows any signof motion (traction
oraugers) wit h the controls disengaged, shut engine off
immediately. Readjust as instructed under the heading
FinalAd justments in Section 3 of this manual.
• Attachsparkplugwiretosparkplug.
Make certain the fuel shut-off valve is in the open
(vertical) position.
Make certain that both the auger control and the
traction control are in the disengaged (released)
position.
