ThisW arning symbol points out important safety instructions which, if not followed, could endanger the
personal safety and/or property of yourself and others. Read and follow all instruc tions in this manual
before attempting to operate your snow thrower. Failure to comply with these instructions may result in
personal injury. When you see this symbol, heed its warning.
DANGER:Your s now thrower was built to be operated according to the rules for safe operation in this
manual. As with any type of power equipment, carelessness or error on the part of the operator can
result in serious injury. Failure to observe the following safety instructions cou ld result in serious injury
orde ath.

TRAINING

Readthis operators manual carefully in its entirety
beforeattempting to assemble or operate this
machine.Be completely familiar with the control s
andthe proper use of this machine before operating
it.Keep this manual in a s afe place for future and
regularreference and for ordering r eplacement
parts.
Neverallow children under 14 years old to operate
asnow thrower. Children 14 years old and over
shouldonly operate snow thrower under close
parentalsupervision. Only persons well acquainted
withthese rules of safe operation should be allowed
touse your snow thrower.
Noone should operate this unit while intoxicated or
whiletaking medication that impairs the senses or
reactions.
Keepthe area of operation clear of all persons,
especiallysmall children and pets.
Exercisecaution to avoid slipping or falling,
especiallywhen operating in reverse.

PREPARATION

Thoroughlyinspect the area where the equipment is
tobe used and remove all door mats, sleds, boards,
wiresand other foreign objects.
Disengageall clutches and shift into neutral before
startingengine.
Donot operate equipment without wearing
adequatewinter outer garments. Do not wear
jewelry,long scarfs or other loose clothing which
couldbecome entangled in moving parts. Wear
footwearwhich will improve footing on slippery
surfaces.
Beforeworking with gasoline, extinguish all
cigarettesand other sources of ignition. Check the
fuelbefore starting the engine. Gasoline is an
extremelyflammable fuel. Do not fill the gasoline
tankindoors, while the engine is running, or until
enginehas been allowed to cool at least two
minutes.Replace gasoline cap securely and wipe
offany spilled gasoline before starting the engine as
itmay cause a fire or explosion.
Usea grounded three wire plug-infor all units with
electricdrive motors or electric starting motors.
Adjustcollector housing height to clear gravel or
crushedrock surface.
Neverattempt to make any adjustments while
engineis running (except where specifically
recommendedby manufacturer).
Letengine and machine adjust to outdoor
temperaturebefore starting to clearsnow.
Alwayswear safety glasses or eye shields during
operationor while performing an adjustment or
repair,to protect eyes from foreign objects that may
bethrown from the machine in any direction.

OPERATION

Donot put hands or feet near or under rotating
parts.Keep clear of discharge opening and auger at
alltimes.
Exerciseextreme caution when operating on or
crossinggravel drives, walks, or roads. Stay alert
forhidden hazards or traffic. Do not carry
passengers.
Afterstriking a foreign object, stop the engine,
removewire from spark plug, and thoroughly
inspectthe snow thrower for any damage. Repair
thedamage before restarting and operating the
snowthrower.
Ifthe snow thrower should start to vibrate
abnormally,stop the engine and check immediately
forthe cause. Vibration is generally a war ning of
trouble.
Stopengine whenever you leave the operating
position,before unclogging the collector/impeller
housingor discharge guide, and making any
repairs,adjustments, or inspections. Never place
yourhand in the discharge or collector openings.
Usea stick or wooden broom handle to unclog the
dischargeopening.
Takeall possible precautions when leaving the unit
unattended.Disengage the collector/impeller, shift
intoneutral, stop the engine, and remove the key.
