System Security and Front Bezel Removing
To help prevent una uthor ized ent ry or us e of t he sys tem, the s ystem
includes a full lockable front bezel and S erver M anagement s oftwar e
that monitors the front b ezel intrusion switch.
Security with mechanical locks a nd monit or ing:
The front bezel contains a mechanical lock and an int rus ion swit ch
to prevent acces s t o t he c omp u t er chassis. W hen t he cover is opened,
the switch transmits an alarm signal to the system board, where
server management software processes the signal.
Software Locks via the system set u p utility
The BIOS set up utilit y provides a number of security fea tures to prevent unauthor ized or
accidental access to the system. Once the security measures are enabled, access to the system is
allowed only aft er the user enter s the correc t passwor d(s). For ex ample:
- Enable the keyboard lockout timer so that the server requires a password to reactivate the
keyboard and mouse after a specified time-out period (1 to 120min)
- Set and enable an administr ative password
- Set and enable a user p a ssword
- Set secure mode to prevent keyboar d or mouse inpu t and to pr event use of the f ront pa nel
reset and power switches
- Activate a hot key combination t o enter secure mode quickly
- Disable writing to the disket t e drive when secure mode is set
- Disable access to t he b oot sector of the operat ing s ystem hard disk drive.
