Tw o tips on using the Low Pass Filter:

As a starting point, setLow Pass Filterto the 1 o’clock position. This willresultin an 80Hz low pass.As the set- ting is typicalform ostDolby Digital/DTS applications. Note:The LFE inputbypasses the adjustable 12dB Low Pass Filter.

See the Fine-Tuning section for further adjustm ent guidelines.

SUBW O O FER PHASE: This switch sets the phase of the subwooferateitherthe 0°position (norm alphase)or the 180° position (reverse phase) to achieve the sm oothestpossible bass response in yoursystem .

This phase-reversing option is im portantbecause ifbass frequencies com e from both the subwooferand the m ain speakers, peaks and dips in the frequency response can occuratthe listening position. In these cases, reversing the subwooferphase can im prove blending and balance.

To properly setthe SubwooferPhase:

•Play fam iliarm usic,reversing phase settings.And listen

from yourusualposition.

•Avoid evaluating while standing above the subwooferor

am plifier; sound at the listening position will be

significantly different.

The correctsetting is the one in which the bass is the loudestatthe listening position.

PO W ER M O DE: This feature autom atically switches your SW 10 llor SW 12 into m inim um -power m ode (ie, sleep) whenever no signal is present for 20 m inutes.

When a signalis received, itim m ediately turns on again. As AUTO M ode is autom atic, itrequires no adjustm ent, noris there a need to turn the SW 10 llorSW 12 on and off every tim e it is used. W hen in O N M ode, the sub- wooferis always on.

LO W PASS FILTER:This controldeterm ines the upper- lim it frequency the subwoofer will reproduce. For exam ple, setting the filter at 100Hz will cause the subwooferto reproduce only frequencies below 100Hz. The Low Pass Filter is continuously variable between 40Hz (low bass) and 180Hz (upper bass), to accom m odate differentspeakers.

SW 10 specifications

The NHT SW 10 is a well-regarded subwoofer that has gained a reputation among audiophiles for its impressive performance and deep, rich bass response. Designed to complement both music and home theater systems, this subwoofer combines technology and quality craftsmanship to provide an immersive listening experience.

One of the standout features of the SW 10 is its powerful 10-inch driver, which is specifically engineered to produce low-frequency sounds with precision and clarity. The driver is constructed using high-quality materials to ensure durability and long-lasting performance. In addition to the driver, the SW 10 is equipped with a built-in high-efficiency amplifier that delivers up to 200 watts of peak power. This ensures that the subwoofer can handle dynamic soundtracks and bass-heavy music without distortion, contributing to its overall performance.

Another notable characteristic of the NHT SW 10 is its adjustable low-pass filter, which allows users to fine-tune the crossover frequency. This feature enables seamless integration with satellite speakers, ensuring that the subwoofer complements the overall sound profile of the audio system. Furthermore, the phase control switch allows for precise alignment with other speakers, enhancing the overall soundstage and tonal balance.

The acoustic design of the SW 10 also plays a significant role in its performance. It features a bass reflex enclosure that uses a ported design to maximize airflow and increase bass efficiency. This design not only enhances low-frequency output but also ensures that the subwoofer produces tight and controlled bass, rather than muddy or boomy sounds.

Connectivity options are another strength of the NHT SW 10. It is equipped with both line-level and speaker-level inputs, making it compatible with a wide variety of audio systems. Users can easily integrate it into existing setups, whether they are using it with a stereo or home theater configuration.

With its sleek and modern aesthetic, the NHT SW 10 can blend seamlessly into any room decor. Its compact design makes it easy to place, whether in a corner of the room or discreetly tucked away. Overall, the NHT SW 10 stands out as an excellent choice for those seeking a high-quality subwoofer that delivers an extraordinary listening experience.
