Smart Portrait Mode (Capturing Smiling Faces)

When the camera detects a smiling face, you can take a picture automatically without pressing the shutter-release button (smile timer). You can use the skin softening option to smooth the skin tones in people’s faces.

Enter shooting mode MA(shooting mode) button MFSmart portrait mode Mkbutton

1Frame the picture.

•Point the camera at a person’s face.

•“Using Face Detection” (A57)

2Wait for the subject to smile. Do not press the shutter-release button.

•If the camera detects that the face framed by the double border is smiling, it automatically releases the shutter (Smile timer; A55, E30).

•After the camera releases the shutter, it continues to detect faces and smiles, and releases the shutter again if it detects a smiling face.

3Shooting ends.

•To cancel smile detection and stop shooting, perform any of the following operations:

-Turn the camera off.

-Set Smile timer (A55, E30) to Off.

-Press the Abutton and select a different shooting mode.
